Do I need to have anything prepared for my first neurological rehabilitation assessment?

It helps to have a list of your current medications, any recent medical reports, and details about your symptoms or goals.

Also, wear comfortable clothing and be ready to discuss what you find challenging in daily life, as well as what you'd like to achieve.

Of course, you can also have a family member or loved one present to give any additional information on your condition.

What if I need to cancel?

If you need to cancel your appointment with us, simply contact us as soon as you can. We appreciate you giving us as much notice as possible, and we will aim to reschedule your appointment to a time that suits you better. Cancelations withing 24hrs of appointment may incur a cancellation fee.

I was told I won't get better, will you still assess me?

Yes, our team neurological therapists will still assess you, even if you've been told your neurological improvements may be limited.

The therapists focus on helping you maximise independence, manage symptoms, and enhance your quality of life, even when a full recovery isn't possible.

I need a neurological report for my GP, is this something you do?

Our therapists can supply written reports for your GP or healthcare team. Please discuss with us.

We are proud to have supported many patients across Hampshire on their journey to improved mobility, independence and quality of life.

What to Expect

Having a therapist come to our care home made such a difference to my mother. She was nervous about formal physiotherapy appointments but felt completely at ease in familiar surroundings. Her mobility and confidence have both improved significantly.

Margaret

From the very first assessment, I felt listened to and understood. The therapist came to my home which made such a difference — I could practise my exercises in my own environment. My walking has improved enormously and I feel so much more confident going out.
